Devon and his family are excited for this opportunity to continue in the 75 year tradition of Huron Forest Camp CedarRidge. For the past two years Devon has been involved with HFCC through the Performing Arts Company as their Technical Director. His passion for teaching and training youth in Christ has led him to join our team. Devon, his wife Sarah, and their children Audrey (4) and Jeremiah (2) come from Nashville, TN. Devon graduated from Belmont University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He has been managing his own business producing corporate events in the healthcare, restaurant and retail industries. His unique business skills driven by his passion for investing in youth will be a great asset to HFCC.  He looks forward to leading us into the next season of growth and extension of the kingdom.

Linn Kereji (Bob White)
President

What's your bird name and why did you choose it?

Bob White which is a native bird to Pennsylvania.  I picked this name because I dearly love my roots in Pennsylvania and I thought it was a fun joke between my daughter and I.  (She originally vetoed it!)

Where are you from originally and where do you live now?

I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and have lived in several different states before settling in Michigan.  I am married with two children, Zachary and Melissa.  My son is now married and I am now a very proud grandmother of four, Cheyenne, Jacob, James and a new baby boy to be born in early June.

What local church are you involved with?

Highland Park Baptist Church in Southfield.

What's your educational background/profession?

I am the Senior Community Counselor for Au Pairs in America.

How long have you been involved in Camp and in what capacities?

I found Camp through my daughter who spent 13 summers at HFCC. She was a Camper, CILT Grad, Counselor and then Business Manager for two years. HFCC made a large mark on her life and her relationship with the Lord. After seeing how it impacted her life, I was drawn to become more involved with camp.

Why do you like being on the Board of Directors?

It has helped me grow me way I never thought possible.   It has shown me the power of prayer and so increased my faith because the Lord’s hand on this camp. It has been an amazing experience for me and I can't wait for what the Lord has in store for this new season of camp.

The first time I volunteered for camp was when my daughter called me to see if I could head up the Stayover program for a weekend. After that I was hooked; I started cooking for the Mother/Daughter Week ends and even helped out with Staff Kids one summer.

What's your bird name and why did you choose it?

Eagle.  It comes from one of my favorite scripture passages: "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary.  The will walk and not be faint." ~Isaiah 40:31

How long have you been involved in Camp and in what capacities?

I grew up going to camp (Pathfinder to Explorer!), then went away for a few years for school, and returned to be on staff in 2008.  I have served as Girls Camp Director, counselor, lifeguard, and currently am the Artistic Director of the HFCC Performing Arts Company.  This will be my fourth year on the Board of Directors.

Why do you like being on the Board of Directors?

Camp is where I responded to the gospel and decided to acknowledge Jesus as my Lord and Savior.  I desire to see kids have that same opportunity to experience God's love, form powerful friendships, and have fun at camp.  I love getting to know the camp family and helping us find ways to make camp flourish.  I have learned so much from my fellow board members and love engaging new people into the HFCC community.

I find jello to be very gross.  Red jello is the worst.  People think that's strange.

I don’t like dirt and where does the Lord have me serve?   At a Christian children’s camp where there is a LOT of dirt!

Chris Clauson (PC)
Secretary

pc@campcedarridge.org

What's your bird name and why did you choose it?

PC is my bird name, but I am anything but PC or “politically correct.”  That is part of the reason I chose the name back in the summer of 1995, which was my first summer at camp.   The PC movement was just getting underway so I thought the name would be a bit ironic.  I have had others tell me it stands for Prayer Chain, PopCorn, Pork Chop, Personal Computer, Parachute Cord, among other things.  But it really goes back to when I was much younger and a fan of the TV show “The Monkees” there was an episode where the refrain “Save the Texas Prairie Chicken” was used. Different Prairie Chickens or Grouses are considered endangered species.   It was just one of those things that stuck in my mind, so Prairie Chicken or PC became my bird name.

Where are you from originally and where do you live now?

I grew up in Romeo, Michigan.  I now live in Warren.

What local church are you involved with?

Bethany Baptist Church of Clinton Township.

What's your educational background/profession?

I studied art in college and have always had a love for yarns and fibers. I knit and weave.  I sew and do other types of crafts, too.

How long have you been involved in Camp and in what capacities?

All of my children grew up going to HFCC.  Weatherby, Buff, Kirinki, and Chanti are my kids.  TV (Turkey Vulture) is my husband.  As mentioned earlier, I have been involved with HFCC since 1995.  I came to help in the kitchen and I have worked in the kitchen almost every summer since then. 2017 will be my 22nd season of helping out at camp.  I have cooked during regular camp weeks, and Work Weekends.

Why do you like being on the Board of Directors?

Volunteering as the secretary on the Board of Directors has been an interesting position.  I have learned that camp does not just happen.  It takes a lot of work from many talented people to put it all together.  I enjoy communicating with the people who call or email the camp for information.

I am one of a handful of people to perform maintenance on the bottom of the camp pool while it was full of water by repeatedly diving and surfacing! This was during pre-camp with pretty cool water!
