Why Camp CedarRidge?
Well, we’re unique
Located in the middle of Huron National Forest in Oscoda, MI, Camp CedarRidge allows kids to unplug and make memories that last a lifetime. For 75 years, our goal has been to help campers grow closer to Christ and form lasting friendships. Whether attending an overnight camp, weekend retreat, or wilderness adventure trip, your camper will have a one of a kind experience, cultivating his or her independence, exploring new skills, and learning how to bring Christ into every aspect of life.
Low Camper-to-Staff Ratio
Individualized skill-based programming allows campers to develop independence and teamwork skills.
Every camper is different, and we believe each deserves a week at camp that is just right for them. We have over 75 years of experience and tradition that helps to build our unique programming. Our daily activities are designed to challenge campers on many levels. Giving them the opportunity to choose classes that may take them out of their comfort zone allows them to advance through various levels. They may even earn awards for their achievements! At our traditional camps, campers have the opportunity to custom design their week by choosing two activities to focus on during their time at camp. At our specialty camps, programming is fine tuned to meet each camper at his or her skill level so each has an equal opportunity to learn.
An intentionally rustic location gives campers a week to grow without everyday pressures.
In this day and age, it is difficult to find time to just be; be with yourself, be with nature, and be with God free of distractions. Camp CedarRidge is located on 120 acres in the middle of the Huron Forest National Park. Surrounded by nature and intentionally simple facilities, we focus on unplugging youth and adults from the chaotic world and plugging them into their God-given talents. We believe spending less time distracted by busyness and technology gives campers more time to strengthen their relationships with one another and with their Creator.
The HFCC staff is truly what gives campers an amazing experience. With a maximum camper-to-staff ratio of 3:1, a staff member is alway nearby whether it’s for a simple game of tetherball or an hour long conversation about who God is. Counselors spend each day getting to know their campers more and more as they eat meals together, have group Bible study, and do a special activity just with their cabin groups. We believe building a relationship with each camper is important to understanding how we can best show them the love of Christ.
A low camper-to-staff ratio provides a chance for campers to connect personally with staff, their camp experience, and ultimately Christ.
A mission to integrate a child's walk with Christ into every aspect of his or her life.
At HFCC, we strive to deepen our campers view of Christ through their experiences. We focus on integrating spiritual foundations into every aspect of their day. Morning worship, memory verses during activity classes, songfest at lunch, personal devotions and daily group Bible studies are just a few of the ways we desire to ‘show Christ in all we do’. Our staff is focused on showing campers the love of Christ through example and are constantly looking for ways to show them how God is working all around them. Our program is designed to emphasize a personal relationship with Christ by campers starting the day with personal quiet time Bible reading.
